OXFORD, Miss. — After trailing 12-3 after six innings, Kentucky rallied for four runs in the seventh and three in the eighth, but Mississippi held off the Cats for a 12-10 SEC baseball win Saturday.
The Cats had a shot in the ninth, loading the bases with two outs on a single, a double and walk. Then Ole Miss closer Bobby Wahl, who saved Friday night's game, got Chad Wright to fly out.
Kentucky (17-19, 2-12) had 14 hits, including two each from Taylor Black, Braden Kapteyn, Thomas McCarthy, Michael Williams and Brian Adams. Black and Kapteyn knocked in three runs each and Adams hit a homer and scored three times.
Matt Tracy led Ole Miss with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored.
