The University of Kentucky baseball team announced a 56-game 2014 schedule Wednesday that includes 25 games against teams rated among the top 50 in last season's RPI.
Twenty games will be against teams that played in last season's NCAA Tournament.
The Wildcats' schedule under sixth-year coach Gary Henderson includes 30 home games and 30 Southeastern Conference games.
"We are excited about our 2014 schedule," Henderson said. "It is important to have some good non-league tests and we will have some matchups against some teams in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, that will help us get ready for conference action. And as always, the SEC is the toughest league in the nation, from top to bottom, and it will present some great challenges every weekend."
UK will open the season in Wilmington, N.C., with a game against Virginia (50-12 last season) on Feb. 14.
Kentucky's home opener is set for Feb. 25 against Wright State.
UK opens SEC action with a trip to Alabama the weekend of March 14-16. UK's other SEC road trips include Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Georgia.
Kentucky — 30-25 overall, 11-19 SEC last season — will host league series against South Carolina, Florida, Missouri, Mississippi and Auburn.
Kentucky's non-league schedule includes rivalry/in-state games at Indiana (March 11), Louisville (April 15) and Murray State (May 13) and home against Northern Kentucky (March 12), Western Kentucky (March 18), Louisville (April 1) and Morehead State (April 8).
The SEC Tournament will be held in Hoover, Ala., May 20-25.
