BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — No. 16 Indiana mounted two-run rallies in the first and fourth innings to post a 7-2 win over No. 20 Kentucky at Bart Kaufman Field.
The Wildcats (13-4) dropped their first game with the Hoosiers (8-6) in the last four meetings.
Indiana got two-run frames in the bottom of the first and fourth innings, adding a run in the fifth inning. Indiana used homers from Dustin DeMuth and Kyle Schwarber to stretch its lead after the first-inning rally.
Kentucky starter Dylan Dwyer (1-1) suffered his first career loss in his fourth career start. The Murray native worked 71⁄3 innings, allowing five hits and seven runs, striking out a career-high nine.

Cumbess handles Herd
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Senior Lauren Cumbess pitched seven strong innings to pick up her fifth win of the season, while the Wildcat offense provided Cumbess five runs in the opening frame and No. 9/11 Kentucky softball team took down Marshall 6-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Dot Hicks Field.
The Cats scored six runs on 11 hits. Junior catcher Griffin Joiner and senior outfielder Emily Jolly each had multiple-hit games with Joiner scoring a run and Jolly grabbing an RBI. Sophomore Nikki Sagermann went 1-for-3 with an RBI and her second double of the season, while senior Ginny Carroll had a hit and a run scored. Senior Emily Gaines had a two-RBI single, while sophomores Christian Stokes and Darington Richardson each had singles.
