Former University of Kentucky star AJ Reed hit his second home run since being promoted to Class A Quad Cities. The Houston Astros prospect hit a two-run shot in the River Bandits’ 6-5 loss to Clinton.
Reed, who batted .306 with five home runs and 30 RBI at short-season Class A Tri-City, has started 2-for-11 (.182) with the two home runs and four RBI in three games for Quad Cities.
■ J.T. Riddle (Western Hills, UK) singled once in six at-bats to extend his hitting streak to 13 games in Class A Greensboro's 8-6 win against Asheville in 12 innings. The Miami Marlins prospect is batting .289 with eight homers and 43 RBI.
■ Josh Lueke (Scott, Northern Ky.) earned his seventh save of the season after striking out all three batters in the ninth inning of Triple-A Durham’s 4-1 win over Charlotte. The Covington native has 24 strikeouts on the season.

■ Neil Holland (Owensboro Catholic, Louisville) pitched three scoreless innings to notch his sixth win of the season for Double-A Harrisburg. Holland (6-2) gave up two hits and struck out two after relieving Tyler Herron in the 10th inning of the Senators’ 6-3 13-inning win at Richmond.
■ Andy Burns (UK) had two hits and scored two runs in Double-A New Hampshire’s 7-2 win at Binghamton. He’s batting .250 with 11 home runs and 47 RBI in 104 games for the Toronto Blue Jays affiliate.
■ Cody Forsythe (Marshall Co.) got his third save following 1 2/3 innings of relief in Class A Advanced Clearwater’s 8-7 win at Fort Myers. Forsythe struck out two in his appearance and lowered his ERA to 2.29.
■ Chris Curley, who starred at Beechwood and Campellsville University, was only a home run short of hitting for the cycle in Double-A Birmingham’s 7-3 win over Tennessee. Curley, 26, went 3-for-4 at the plate and had two RBI.
