Kentucky Coach John Calipari recently confessed to NCAA.com’s Andy Katz that he’d still like to have a 40-0 team before he retires.
Calipari gave Katz a tour of his office at Rupp Arena in a video published Wednesday where they talked about the photos and memories the eighth-year UK coach has there.
Calipari focused on the sacrifice players on his past teams have made to be successful, including Anthony Davis in 2012 and his Blue and White platoons in 2015.
“This team (2015) sacrificed more than any team in the history of college basketball,” Calipari told Katz. “And guess what? We almost won all 40 (games). I’m still hacked off that we lost that game. That team should have been 40-0. That would have been been the statement in the history of our sport if we could have won all 40 (games).
“I’d like to get to 40 sometime before I retire.”
