University of Kentucky junior Jon Hood underwent surgery Friday on the knee he injured last month, Coach John Calipari noted on his Twitter account.
"He's already at home after morning surgery," Calipari tweeted. "Jon said he feels good and thanks for all the support."
Hood tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a July 18 pickup game.
"I was hoping he'd have a breakout season," Calipari told reporters during a news conference for his Dominican Republic National Team earlier Friday. "Like I told him, there's always a silver lining. He can use this as (a way to get) a year older and a year more mature."
The Madisonville native played in 33 games on last year's Final Four team, averaging 4.8 minutes and 0.8 points.
