Kansas came out ready, but Marquis Teague and Doron Lamb kicked the running game in gear, and UK led 17-9. Terrence Jones and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist went to work inside, and UK was up 23-14. Kentucky was focused and crisp and led 34-19 on back-to-back three-pointers from Teague and Lamb. Kentucky was answering every Kansas move. The lead was 41-27 at the half. Kansas was within 48-38 when Lamb nailed back-to-back three-pointers. The UK lead was 59-44 with 5:12 left, but UK went into an offensive lull. The lead was 62-57 with 1:37 left, as close as Kansas would get.
