Former University of Kentucky standout Josh Harrellson was waived by the NBA's Houston Rockets on Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Harrellson, who was acquired by the Rockets on July 11 in a trade with the New York Knicks, was let go to make room for free-agent acquisition Carlos Delfino, the team announced.
Harrellson played in two Summer League games with the Rockets.
He averaged 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 37 games with the Knicks as a rookie last season. New York traded Harrellson as part of a deal to bring in Marcus Camby.
