The University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball game at top-ranked Kansas on Jan. 30 has been set for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
The game featuring the two winningest schools in NCAA Division I history is part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge, for which times were finalized Monday.
UK’s first trip to Kansas’ Allen Fieldhouse since Jan. 7, 2006, will be televised on ESPN.
This marks the third season of the Big 12/SEC Challenge, though this will be the first season where all 10 games will be played on the same day.
Never miss a local story.
Ten of the SEC’s 14 teams will participate in this year’s event against all 10 of the Big 12’s schools.
Eight of the 10 games will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2 and two games will air on ESPNU.
Kentucky and Kansas have met three times over the last four seasons, with Kentucky winning all three matchups. The Wildcats beat the Jayhawks twice during the 2011-12 season, including a 67-59 victory in the 2012 national championship game. UK defeated Kansas 72-40 in the 2014 Champions Classic in Indianapolis.
Overall, UK leads the series 22-6. Kansas has won the last three meetings in Lawrence, but the Wildcats own a 7-4 series advantage at the Jayhawks’ home.
