The trio is joined in the commercial by former Louisiana State University star Ben Simmons, who is projected to be the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft.
Towns, Booker and Russell all were drafted last season and recently completed their rookie seasons in the league.
In the commercial, all three share their acquired wisdom with Simmons, most notably Russell. The Los Angeles Lakers point guard from Ohio State created a stir during his rookie season by taking a cell phone video of a teammate discussing his romantic life. The video wound up on social media without the teammate’s knowledge. The commercial is a play on the resulting scandal.
Towns, last year’s No. 1 overall draft pick, was a unanimous choice as the NBA’s Rookie of the Year after averaging 18.3 points and 10.5 rebounds for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Booker, last year’s No. 13 pick, started 51 games for the Phoenix Suns and averaged 13.8 points.
Russell, drafted right behind Towns at No. 2 last summer, averaged 13.2 points and 3.3 assists.
