The lowdown: Conwright is maybe the fastest player on a fast, fast team with a nose for the ball on defense. Coach Matthew Mitchell called her perhaps the best defender of this incoming class. On offense, she is explosive and will be a good addition to a team known for running and gunning.

The lowdown: A welcome addition to a relatively inexperienced frontcourt, Drake has a Southeastern Conference body with her length and size. She brings a more physical element to the post position and probably will contribute early.

The lowdown: The reigning SEC Player of the Year is on national watch lists for nearly every individual post-season honor there is. She led the team in nearly every statistical category last season, including scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals. As Dunlap goes, so goes Kentucky. It's not her personality to lead vocally, but she's improving.

The lowdown: Coach Matthew Mitchell calls her a "junkyard dog" for her aggressive, physical play and nose for the ball. A year of SEC experience was invaluable and will show this season with added playing time. Her teammates voted her the player most likely to have a breakout season.
Vitals: The 5-foot-9 sophomore guard is from Louisville (Iroquois). Her major is psychology. She was born March 18, 1991.
The lowdown: The SEC Freshman of the Year doesn't believe in sophomore slumps and says having a target on her back makes her run faster. The team's second-leading scorer last season and one of its most tenacious defenders, she could be one of UK's most important weapons this season.
Vitals: The 5-foot-11 shooting guard is from Chattanooga. Her major is business economics. She was born Jan. 29, 1989.
The lowdown: Senior guard was sidelined by illness at the end of the season but had a strong summer in the gym. She will be looked to for her experience, leadership and three-point shooting expertise.

The lowdown: Kentucky's first McDonald's All-American will be called on early to make plays and score in the absence of Amber Smith at point guard. O'Neill is a strong leader, even as a freshman, and was called "everything you want in a point guard" by Mitchell. She will be a dangerous weapon with her ability to get to the basket, shoot outside and distribute the ball.

The lowdown: Pinkett has had a year to learn the system and develop chemistry with the team, which could mean more minutes for her, especially early. She is deceptively quick and is one of the team's most accurate outside shooters.
Vitals: The 5-foot-5 junior point guard is from Memphis by way of Louisiana State. Her major is kinesiology. She was born April 18, 1990.
The lowdown: Explosive playmaker will be one of the key contributors at the point guard spot. Riley has fully healed from off-season surgery on her foot, and her experience and leadership will be key on the court. She sees the floor well, but needs to take care of the ball.
Vitals: The 5-foot-6 senior point guard is from Winter Haven, Fla. Her major is integrated strategic communications. She was born Sept. 9, 1989.
The lowdown: Even from the bench — where Smith will be relegated to with a torn ACL — this senior will be key. She is the team's fiery emotional leader. The more involved she is during the season, the better the Cats will be. Smith is rehabbing with the intention of returning late this season.
Vitals: The 5-foot-7 junior guard is from Lexington (Lexington Catholic) by way of Akron. Her major is communications. She was born April 12, 1989.
The lowdown: Extremely accurate shooting guard made her way into the starting lineup late in the season and was a key outside presence during UK's NCAA Tournament run. Snowden will have a lot of competition for playing time, but is a proven winner with big-game experience.
