The University of Kentucky women's basketball team continues its nine-game homestand on Sunday with a visit from Mississippi Valley State.
After a season-opening win at Morehead State, No. 14 Kentucky has won five in a row at home. The Wildcats will be seeking their 27th straight home win over a non-conference opponent.
Mississippi Valley State (1-3), a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, is in the midst of a tough early-season schedule that has already included losses to Marquette, Nebraska and Mississippi State. It also will play Iowa State, Iowa, Arkansas and top-ranked Baylor.
Kentucky (6-0) is coming off a 73-52 win over Sam Houston State on Friday night in which senior guard Keyla Snowden made four three-pointers and scored 19 points. Sophomore forward Samantha Drake added 11 points and 13 rebounds in 14 minutes. The Wildcats will be playing their third game in five days.
Sunday's game is Kentucky's final warmup before taking on No. 11 Louisville on Dec. 4 in Memorial Coliseum and No. 7 Duke on Dec. 8 in Rupp Arena.
Kentucky leads the Southeastern Conference in five statistical categories: scoring offense (86.5), steals (18.5), turnover margin (plus-18.8), offensive rebounds (25.2) and offensive rebound percentage (.498).
