Tickets for the University of Kentucky's 2012 Big Blue Madness celebration of the opening of college basketball practice will be distributed Saturday, Sept. 22, the school announced Tuesday.
Big Blue Madness takes place Friday, Oct. 12 in Rupp Arena. Time and broadcast information have not yet been determined.
As usual, tickets to Big Blue Madness are free. They may be picked up at Memorial Coliseum or ordered online when the distribution begins. At Memorial Coliseum, fans will be limited to four tickets per person. Online, tickets are limited to four per household, and there is a service fee attached to the order.
The ticket distribution begins at 7 a.m. on Sept. 22 at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows on Euclid Avenue and online at UKathletics.com and Ticketmaster.com.
Campus public safety officials are asking fans who wish to line up for tickets ahead of time at Memorial Coliseum do so no earlier than 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
The UK athletics department will provide portable restroom facilities. The use of permanent, wooden-type structures, propane tanks or other open flames used in cooking are prohibited. Alcoholic beverages or tobacco products are not permitted.
Control cards will be issued to those camped out on Friday, Sept. 21, beginning at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to start lining up for the ticket distribution between 4-5 a.m. on Sept. 22nd.

This will be the eighth time Madness has been held in Rupp Arena.
The UK men, coming off a national championship in 2011-12, will be introducing almost an entirely new roster for 2012-13. For the fourth consecutive year, Kentucky will be introducing a No. 1-ranked recruiting class to Wildcats fans during Madness as Nerlens Noel, Alex Poythress, Willie Cauley-Stein and Archie Goodwin make their debuts for Coach John Calipari. Fans will also get their first look at transfer Julius Mays.
The UK women, coming off an Elite Eight appearance in last season's NCAA Tournament, have most of that team coming back, led by senior A'dia Mathies, junior Samarie Walker and sophmore Bria Goss. The Cats will introduce incoming freshmen Jelleah Sidney and Janee Thompson as well as transfer DeNesha Stallworth for Coach Matthew Mitchell.
