Starting Saturday, Kentucky fans will be able to relive some of the football glory games via "Big Blue Encore" on WKYT-TV.
Through an agreement with XOS Digital and the Southeastern Conference, the Lexington CBS affiliate will be broadcasting classic UK games throughout the year. It starts Saturday from 3-6 p.m. with the 1998 UK-Louisiana State game when a Coach Hal Mumme-called reverse turned into a game-winning field goal over the Tigers.
On Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., WKYT will air the Kentucky-Louisville football game from 2007 when Andre Woodson hit Stevie Johnson with a 57-yard touchdown pass with 28 seconds to play to give the Cats their first win over a top-10 opponent in three decades.
With the new agreement, WKYT now holds the rebroadcast rights to a UK library of network TV games dating to 1956.
Never miss a local story.
The agreement also includes the rights to the Kentucky basketball games. No set schedule has been released for future rebroadcasts.
