Summary: UK settled for a 3-0 lead after a 38-yard screen pass to freshman Josh Clemons reached the UL 5. UK was driving again when La'Rod King fumbled at the UL 23. After getting no first downs in its first two drives, UL went 72 yards on four plays to go up 7-3.
Thumbs up: Morgan Newton was sharp, hitting nine of 10 passes for 96 yards.
Thumbs down: UK receivers dropped two passes and lost a fumble in the first 7 minutes.
Summary: UL lost QB Will Stein to an injury but used the "Wildcard" formation to gain momentum. UL made it 14-3 on a 25-yard Teddy Bridgewater pass. UK then went 80 yards in just over a minute for a Newton-to-King TD pass with 10 seconds left.
Thumbs up: Redshirt junior E.J. Fields (no career catches) had five for 45 yards.
Thumbs down: Kentucky's running game managed 11 yards in the second quarter.
Summary: It seemed as if UK had stopped UL when Martavius Neloms recovered a fumble at the UK 9-yard line but the play was overturned. The Cards made it 17-10 on a 20-yard field goal. UK could not move the ball and UL kept winning the field-position game.
Thumbs up: UL was in UK territory three times but UK held the Cards to three points.
Thumbs down: Kentucky's offense lost 4 yards in the quarter.
Summary: UL scored when Bridgewater hit Josh Bellamy for a 25-yard TD on third down. UL led 24-10 with 11:15 left. UK finally found some offense, going 77 yards in 15 plays. Fields caught a 2-yard TD at 4:54. UK had a chance to tie but stalled at the UL 15.
Thumbs up: Not much but to be excited about. At least UK made it interesting at the end.
Thumbs down: UK's offensive line, expected to be the team strength, is not getting it done.
