Les Miles admitted he was thinking of the Tigers' 2007 loss to Kentucky when then top-ranked LSU lost to the Cats at Commonwealth Stadium.
"I told them to repay the debt of the 2007 team," said the LSU coach afterward. "We were ranked one, then we went to Kentucky and finished second in the ball game. I think they took that to heart. They did that for Glenn Dorsey, Matt Flynn, Jacob Hester and the rest of the 2007 team that was checking the score today. Overall, it was a good day of work."

■ Injury report: Defensive tackle Mark Crawford, returning from a four-game suspension, sprained his left shoulder.
Linebacker/defensive end Ridge Wilson will have his right finger X-rayed.
Backup quarterback Maxwell Smith, who played the third quarter, injured his back and jaw.
■ Head coach Joker Phillips said that despite starting Smith in the second half that Newton remains the starting quarterback. It was Newton who directed UK's only scoring drive, a 70-yard march in the fourth quarter.
"Morgan made a couple of plays down the stretch, but he's got to play better than he's playing right now," Phillips said. "He's got to play faster. He's holding the ball way too long. We gave up five sacks again today. We can say it's all the offensive line, but some of that has to come on the quarterback."
■ Before scoring with 4:22 left, Kentucky had been outscored 118-0 over its last 11 quarters at Tiger Stadium.
