Brooke Gibbs, a sophomore on Kentucky's cheerleading team, was treated and released from the UK Chandler Hospital after a fall during the fourth quarter of UK's win over Tennessee Martin on Saturday. The fall halted game action for more than 10 minutes as doctors worked to treat her. She left the stadium on a backboard, but gave the crowd a thumbs-up as she was taken off the field.
"Brooke, her family and the cheer program are appreciative of the efforts and expertise of the athletic trainers, team doctors and paramedics who cared for her at the stadium, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital," Kentucky said in a statement. "She has heard of the outpouring of thoughts, prayers and concerns from the Big Blue Nation and can't wait to get back on the field with her teammates and the football team soon."
