With less than a week to go before the NFL Draft, NFL.com released its first seven-round mock draft. Three Kentucky Wildcats were listed, with Bud Dupree leading the way at No. 6 overall to the New York Jets.
Dupree's stock continues to rise as the draft nears. He was taken at No. 8 overall to the Atlanta Falcons in a live mock draft that aired on ESPN2 on Thursday.
The NFL.com mock draft had UK defensive lineman Za'Darius Smith being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round. UK offensive lineman Darrian Miller, who starred in high school at Bryan Station, was projected as a sixth-round pick by the Houston Texans.
› Kentucky's Kendra Harrison took the NCAA lead in the 100-meter hurdles with a winning time of 12.62 at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on Friday in Gainesville. Her personal-best time is the third-fastest wind-legal performance by anyone in the world this season. With Friday's performance, Harrison is now the NCAA leader in both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles, as she ran 54.94 in the 400 earlier this month.
› Zack Brown extended his streak of shutout innings pitched to 15 1/3 with seven strong frames and three relievers combined to pitch the final two innings in Kentucky's 3-0 victory at No. 5 Florida. It was the first time the Gators have been shut out this season. Brown (4-4) allowed five hits — four singles — walked two and struck out six. He has a 2.81 ERA in 67 1/3 innings.
› No. 14 Georgia's Kaylee Puailoa hit a three-run home run in the second inning, giving Chelsea Wilkinson all the run support she needed in a complete-game, 3-0 shutout at No. 17 Kentucky on Friday night at John Cropp Stadium.
