While the football game will be the headliner for the grand reopening of Commonwealth Stadium, Kentucky is planning a full day of festivities, including a free concert featuring Sundy Best.
Sundy Best, a country duo formed by Kentucky natives Kris Bentley and Nick Jamerson, will play at 4 p.m. near Gate 1 of the stadium.
The opening act for Sundy Best will be a reincarnation of Matthew Mitchell's old band, now called Matthew Mitchell and the Go Big Blue Band, featuring the UK women's basketball coach as the lead singer. After college, Mitchell was the lead singer of a band called Coach Mitchell and the B Team.
The concert is set to begin at approximately 3 p.m., with Sundy Best to take the stage at 4 p.m. and break for the Cat Walk at 4:45 p.m.
The national anthem will be performed by a choir made up of singers from each of Kentucky's 120 counties. Then the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights, will deliver the game ball before the team is introduced on the new field in time for the 7 p.m. kickoff against Louisiana-Lafayette.
