Former Eastern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky running back Dy’Shawn Mobley was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday.
Mobley was waived one day before the Bengals were to report to Cincinnati for the start of training camp.
Mobley, who spent two seasons at UK before transferring to EKU, was not selected in the 2016 NFL Draft but signed with the Bengals soon after as a free agent with designs on at least making Cincinnati’s practice squad.
Mobley’s breakout college season came his junior year, when he rushed for 1,491 yards and scored 20 touchdowns for Eastern Kentucky, earning Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Never miss a local story.
A lingering hamstring injury limited Mobley to 347 yards and two TDs as a senior.
