Four-star basketball recruit Tyler Ulis will play at least one game in Kentucky next year.
Whether he plays any in a Wildcats uniform will be decided Friday night.
It was announced Wednesday that Ulis will reveal his college decision Friday before his school's football game.
That announcement will be shown live online at approximately 8:20 p.m. EDT at Highschoolcubenews.com.
Ulis — a 5-foot-8 point guard from the Chicago area — has narrowed his list to Kentucky, Michigan State and Iowa.
He took official visits to Michigan State and Kentucky over the weekend and returned home early Tuesday.
Marian Catholic Coach Mike Taylor told the Herald-Leader that he spoke to Ulis and his father Tuesday night.
"His dad said he was ready," Taylor said. "We thought a good opportunity would be to do it in a festive atmosphere — our football game. ... So he'll be in the student section with a lot of his friends, and we'll have it right there."
Whether Ulis picks the Cats or not, he'll play in Kentucky in 2014.
Marian Catholic is one of the featured teams in the first McCracken County Festival of Hoops. The final schedule for the event, Jan. 9 to 11, was released Wednesday.
Marian Catholic is set to play Carlisle School (Va.) on Jan. 11 at McCracken County High School near Paducah.
Taylor said he agreed to the game after UK offered Ulis a scholarship last month.
"I know some people who have played down there and they said it's an experience you shouldn't pass up," he said. "So we're excited to do it."
The McCracken County event is organized by the same team that runs the popular Marshall County Hoop Fest in nearby Benton. Taylor said his team also is scheduled to play showcases in Michigan and Iowa this season.
Ulis won't be the only UK recruit playing in the McCracken County event.
The schedule also includes Class of 2014 big men Trey Lyles of Indianapolis (Arsenal Tech) and Cliff Alexander of Chicago (Curie High). Several UK targets from the Class of 2015 will be there, including Skal Labissiere, Cheick Diallo, Carlton Bragg, Montaque Gill-Caesar and James "Beetle" Bolden.
Thon Maker — one of the top players from the Class of 2016 — plays for the Carlisle School and has seen interest from UK.
Other top players at the event include former UK recruits Emmanuel Mudiay of Prime Prep (Texas) and Josh Perkins of Huntington Prep (W.Va.), who have committed to other schools.
Tickets will go on sale in October at GoMcCracken.com. All-session passes will cost $45 for lower-level seats and $40 for upper-level seats.
