It's been a rough week so far for the Kentucky football program's recruiting efforts.
Four-star linebacker Nick Conner announced his commitment to Ohio State on Tuesday, the same day that Marquise Copeland pledged to Cincinnati.
On Wednesday, four-star defensive end Dre'Mont Jones joined Conner in Ohio State's recruiting class. A few hours later, class of 2016 quarterback Messiah De-Weaver committed to Michigan.
All four players are from Ohio, and all four players were seen as major UK recruiting targets.
Conner has long been one of the Cats' top priorities in the class of 2015. He received a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes during an on-campus visit Tuesday and jumped at the opportunity. Copeland and Jones were also high on the UK wish list for the class of 2015.
DeWeaver had emerged as arguably one of UK's top two quarterback targets for 2016. He announced his commitment to the Wolverines about three hours after receiving a scholarship offer from them Wednesday.
The Wildcats are also seriously pursuing North Carolina quarterback Austin Kendall for the class of 2016. Kendall's brother Ryan will be a walk-on wide receiver for UK starting this fall.
