Three-star defensive tackle Kordell Looney committed to the University of Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
Looney — a 6-foot-4, 280-pound prospect from Springfield, Ohio — is UK's 15th commitment for the class of 2016. Ten of those players are from the Buckeye State, where Vince Marrow is the Wildcats' primary recruiter.
Rivals.com ranks Looney as the No. 35 prospect from Ohio. UK now has seven of the state's Top 40 players for 2016, according to that recruiting service.
Marrow got in early on Looney's recruitment. Until UK offered him a scholarship last month, only Toledo and Bowling Green had extended offers. He emerged as one of the Cats' top defensive tackle targets in this class.

247Sports ranks Looney as the nation's No. 50 defensive tackle, and he's UK's first commitment at that position for 2016.
UK's recruiting class of 2016 is now ranked No. 4 in the country by 247Sports and No. 8 by Rivals.com.
