Five-star post player Harry Giles will take an official visit to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 16.
Giles — ranked by Scout.com and ESPN as the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2016 — has also scheduled official visits to his other four finalists: Wake Forest (Sept. 19), North Carolina (Sept. 25), Kansas (Oct. 10) and Duke (Oct. 31).
His schedule was first reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
All five of Giles’ official visits will take place before the early signing period, which begins Nov. 11. Giles told the Herald-Leader last month that he would prefer to make a college announcement before the start of his senior season at Oak Hill Academy.
Giles — a 6-foot-10 native of Winston-Salem, N.C. — also visited UK for Big Blue Madness in 2013.
He has arguably been John Calipari’s No. 1 target for the class of 2016, though Duke is regarded by many recruiting analysts as the favroite for his commitment. Giles’ close friend, Jayson Tatum — another five-star player in the 2016 class — committed to Duke last month, and the two have spoken often about playing on the same college team.
Five-star rising seniors Rawle Alkins and Miles Bridges will also take official visits to Kentucky for this year’s Big Blue Madness. More names are expected to be added to that guest list in the coming weeks.
