MINNEAPOLIS — Tubby Smith says he's staying put in Minnesota.
The Gophers' coach addressed speculation that Alabama might pursue him to replace Mike Gottfried, who resigned this week. Smith said Wednesday he's happy in Minnesota and not looking for any other jobs. Arizona, also, could be looking after the season in light of Lute Olson's retirement.
Smith said he's not a candidate for any vacancies. He expressed excitement about "where the Gopher program is" and next year's incoming recruits.
Smith is in his second season at Minnesota after 10 years at Kentucky.
