Henry Clay graduate Aaron Miller's double-double and clutch free-throw shooting Monday night helped visiting Thomas More nip Transylvania in the season opener for both teams.
Miller went 5-for-6 from the line in the final 3:57 and Thomas More pulled out a 71-69 victory in the Beck Center.
Miller had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Chris Owens scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the second half for Transylvania, which erased a nine-point deficit.

Transy took its first lead of the second half, 66-65, on Owens' layup with 4:14 remaining.
Neither team shot well from the free-throw line. Thomas More was 19-for-32. Transy went 14-for-29.
