Marshawn Powell scored a season-high 17 points to lead host Arkansas to an 87-64 win over Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday night. Delvon Johnson added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Razorbacks (7-1), who won their fourth straight after a loss to UAB on Nov. 26.
Mississippi Valley, Kentucky's next opponent, led 32-30 late in the first half after D'Angelo Jackson scored on a fast break, but Arkansas followed with a 33-13 run to take control.
Mississippi St. 101, Belhaven 76: Renardo Sidney scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds as Mississippi State beat Belhaven in Sidney's exhibition debut with the Bulldogs. Sidney, a 6-foot-10 forward who missed more than a year's worth of games after an NCAA eligibility battle and subsequent suspension, was one of the nation's top recruits in 2009. He will make his regular-season debut on Saturday against Virginia Tech. Mississippi State specifically scheduled the exhibition so Sidney could have a practice game before becoming eligible.
Ravern Johnson led the Bulldogs with 29 points. Dee Bost added 26.
No. 2 Ohio St. 83, Florida Gulf Coast 55: Jon Diebler matched an Ohio State record with nine three-pointers, scoring a career-high 29 points and leading the second-ranked Buckeyes past visiting Florida Gulf Coast.
Marshall 56, Savannah St. 47: Tirrell Baines had 20 points and 13 rebounds and Marshall held off host Savannah State for its fourth straight win. Marshall (7-2), which posted its lowest point total of the season, led by 11 with 15:03 to go, but the Tigers tied it up three times, including 47-47 with 4:06 to go.
Louisville 78, Cincinnati 40: Monique Reid (Fern Creek) and Becky Burke scored 13 points apiece to lead the Cardinals to a road win in their Big East opener. Tia Gibbs (Butler) added 11 points and Shoni Schimmel had 10 points and eight assists.
The Cardinals started the game with a 13-0 run, holding the Bearcats without a field goal until the 12:49 mark. Following a Bearcats basket, the Cardinals responded with another 13-0 run to take a 26-2 lead with eight minutes remaining in the first half.

Tennessee: Sophomore forward Jeronne Maymon has been cleared to play with the Volunteers when they travel to Charlotte on Friday. Maymon, who transferred to Tennessee after playing nine games for Marquette, averaged four points and 4.2 rebounds.
Missouri: Point guard Michael Dixon was suspended indefinitely for an unspecified violation of team rules. Dixon is averaging 10.7 points and a team-leading 4.3 assists.
