The men's and women's basketball teams at Campbellsville, Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands earned bids in their respective Division I national NAIA tournaments Wednesday.
The 32-team men's tournament will be played March 14-20 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. The women's tournament is the same week, in the Frankfort Convention Center.
Men's first-round matchups for local teams:
■ No. 8 seed Lindsey Wilson (21-9) plays Evangel (Mo.) on March 14 at 3:15 p.m.
■ Campbellsville (21-11) plays No. 10 seed Biola (Calif.) on March 14 at 5:30 p.m.
■ Cumberlands (20-11), winner of the Mid-South Conference Tournament, plays No. 5 seed Southern Poly (Ga.) on March 15 at 11:45 a.m.
■ No. 14 seed Georgetown (24-8), making its tournament-record 21st consecutive appearance, plays Lee (Tenn.) on March 15 at 9 p.m.
In addition, No. 1 seed Shorter (Ga.) is making its first appearance in the tournament.
The women's first-round matchups:
■ Georgetown (21-9) plays Vanguard (Calif.) on March 14 at 5:45 p.m.
■ Cumberlands (28-3) plays Rogers State (Okla.) on March 14 at 9:45 p.m.
■ Campbellsville (20-12) plays Saint Xavier (Ill.) on March 15 at 9 a.m.
■ Lindsey Wilson (20-12) plays Union (Tenn.) on March 15 at 8 p.m.
The Mid-South landed a tournament-high five teams, including Shawnee State (27-5), which plays William Woods (Mo.) in the first round.
