Isaiah Canaan scored 26 points, Stacy Wilson added 18 and Murray State ran past Auburn 79-59 at the Charleston (S.C.) Classic on Thursday night.
The Racers (2-0) will play another high-speed opponent, St. John's, on Friday for a spot in the eight-team tournament's title game Sunday. Auburn (1-1) will go against the host school, College of Charleston, in the consolation round.
Murray State opened a 27-10 lead over the first 11 minutes and the margin only got wider the rest of the way.
Canaan, the Racers' star guard, had outscored Auburn by himself in the first half with 20 points as Murray State led 45-19 at the break. Things only got worse as the Tigers trailed by as many as 36.

Rob Chubb and Asauhn Dixon-Tatum had 12 points each to lead Auburn.
Morehead 101, Alice Lloyd 50: Milton Chavis scored 17 points, Chad Posthumus had 16 points and nine rebounds, and host Morehead State scored 60 second-half points en route to victory.
Tyler Rogers scored 14 points for Alice Lloyd (3-4), an NAIA school that competes in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Berea 94, Kentucky Christian 73: Tevin Webster scored 18 points and Deon Banks had 17 as host Berea broke open a close game in the second half to run its record to 5-1.

Maryville 60, Centre 50: Both teams hit only 29 percent of their shots, but host Maryville got more rebounds (44-39) and hit more free throws (17-11) in the season opener for both teams. Centre's Josh Karsner led all scorers with 20 points.
Tennessee 75, UNC Asheville 68: Jarnell Stokes and Kenny Hall led five Tennessee players in double figures as the Volunteers won in the opening round of the Puerto Rico Tipoff.
Alabama 65, Oregon State 62: Rodney Cooper hit a three-pointer from right in front of the Alabama bench with 12.2 seconds left and the Tide, who led by as many as 15 points in the second half, beat Oregon State in the 2K Sports Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.
No. 1 Indiana 99, Sam Houston State 45: Christian Watford came off the bench for a second time on Thursday night, and he embraced it, scoring 23 points as the Hoosiers beat Sam Houston State in the Progressive Legends Classic.

No. 8 Louisville 90, Austin Peay 52: Monique Reid scored 14 points in just 10 minutes of the Cardinals' first road game this season.
Reid is playing limited minutes after a left knee injury ended her season last December. The senior went 6-for-7 with five rebounds.
