Kentucky got more than its share of made-for-TV matchups when the Southeastern Conference released its women's basketball schedule Friday.
The Wildcats, projected to be a top-10 team by ESPN's Charlie Creme at the end of last season, will meet Creme's No. 2 South Carolina and No. 3 Tennessee twice each this season.
The Gamecocks are UK's permanent home-and-away opponent and the Cats got the Lady Volunteers and Mississippi as its other home-and-away foes this season.
UK will face Creme's No. 4 Texas A&M in Memorial Coliseum (Feb. 19) and go on the road against No. 17 LSU (Jan. 18) and No. 23 Arkansas (Feb. 26).
Kentucky will have four games appear on one of the ESPN networks and eight more on the "SEC on ESPN" platform.
The Cats' eight conference games at home are against Florida (Jan. 15), Tennessee (Jan. 29), Georgia (Feb. 1), Mississippi State (Feb. 12), Texas A&M (Feb. 19) and a Senior Day contest against South Carolina on March 1.
Four seniors — Azia Bishop, Bria Goss, Jennifer O'Neill and Jelleah Sidney — will be honored that day.
The end of UK's league play includes three of the final five games on the road — including the one at Tennessee, where UK won 75-71 last season, its first win at Thompson-Boling Arena in school history — and the two home games against potential top-10 opponents for Kentucky.
This season's SEC Tournament will be held at The Verizon Center in North Little Rock, Ark. The tournament begins Wednesday, March 4 and concludes with the championship game on Sunday, March 8.
ESPN2 and ESPNU will broadcast a combined 16 conference games, including the four Kentucky games. The SEC Network will televise 44 games, eight featuring the Wildcats. There will also be a package of televised non-conference games that will be announced at a later date. Additionally, Kentucky will have the ability to produce conference and non-conference games not televised for SEC Network Plus, exclusive games available on WatchESPN and SECSports.com.
