Corey Walden's layup with 12 seconds left gave Eastern Kentucky a 66-65 victory over High Point in second round of the CollegeInsider.com tournament in Richmond. Walden finished with 19 points, five assists and four steals. Eric Stutz added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Colonels will host a quarterfinal game Wednesday night against an opponent yet to be determined. Matchups for each round are determined after the preceding round is completed.
■ It took overtime, but Pikeville's men advanced to the NAIA national quarterfinals with a 97-93 win against Concordia (Calif.). K.K. Simmons hit six three-pointers and finished with 28 points, and Kenny Manigault put up big numbers with 23 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and five assists.
Cumberlands was eliminated from the tournament after a 73-59 loss to Martin Methodist (Tenn.). Xavier Owens had 26 points and 13 rebounds in the Patriots' loss.
■ Thomas More's women advanced to the NCAA Division III championship game with a 62-52 victory over Tufts. The undefeated Saints (32-0) got 23 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals from former Boone County star Sydney Moss. Thomas More will face George Fox (Ore.), also 32-0, in Saturday's championship game at 7:30 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Mich.
■ Campbellsville's women defeated MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) 52-45 to reach the NAIA national quarterfinals. Madison Clements led the way with 12 points, and Lindsey Burd (Hart County) and Caroline Owen scored 11 apiece.
