The University of Louisville announced Wednesday that freshman Shaqquan Aaron is leaving the basketball program after just one season with the Cardinals.
Aaron, originally from California, played his high school career in Seattle at the same school that produced former U of L star Terrence Williams.
The 6-foot-7 wing player missed the Cards' first nine games this past season due to an NCAA eligibility problem. He averaged just 1.3 points and 0.7 rebounds in 23 games once he got on the court.
Aaron was considered Louisville's top recruit in the class of 2014. He was the nation's No. 25 prospect, according to the RSCI consensus rankings, and was the program's first participant in the Jordan Brand Classic all-star game since 2008.
Never miss a local story.
"We are in total agreement with Shaqquan transferring and we wish him the best," U of L Coach Rick Pitino said in a statement released by the school.
