The Houston Rockets selected Louisville's Montrezl Harrell with the 32nd pick of the NBA Draft, giving the Cardinals two selections on Thursday night.
Teammate Terry Rozier was picked at No. 16 by the Boston Celtics. Harrell will join former Kentucky standout Terrence Jones in Houston.
The Rockets also selected Wisconsin's Sam Dekker in the first round.
"We got two top, top, top level winners in college," GM Daryl Morey said.
Harrell, a junior, averaged 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds for Louisville last season. He was named to the All-ACC Second Team last season along with Rozier.
"Super high-energy big," Morey said. "Led the country in dunks the last two years, which is sort of nice."
Harrell was projected by some to be selected much higher in the draft.
''It's tough to have to wait in the first round," Harrell said. "But everything happens for a reason. Being picked by the Rockets means ... (they) definitely saw something in me."
