Outlook: Martin, who succeeds Renee Miller and back-to-back 3-17 seasons, is counting on a big junior class and at least three sophomores to step up in support of the senior leaders. "We have a great group of girls that are excited to come to training every day. ... We just hope to play some good soccer and create a new 'culture' with Bryan Station girls' soccer," Martin said.

Outlook: Aragaw sees leadership as the key for the season, as the Blue Devils lost 11 seniors — including all-state players Olivia Max and Rachel Geil — from a squad that reached the final 16 in the state. "We have nine new players with great skills," Aragaw said. "We expect them to contribute right away. It might take us some time to find the team chemistry; that's why we are depending on every practice and game for improvement."

Outlook: Lafayette aims to improve on its first winning season since 2004. The Generals are learning a new system on defense, having graduated all the back-line starters. Veterans Marie Armbruster, Sarah Fannon, Emily Farrer and Hallie Hensley will lead the defense. A strong offense is anchored by juniors Margaret Kelly and Rachel Roberts. Freshmen Saydie Mathews and Alex Robinson, with senior Josie Stoner, will add depth on the attack.
