No. 22 Boyle County (6-0) at Lexington Catholic (3-3): Chuck Smith is back as Boyle County coach and part of this rivalry for the first time since 2004.
"There are some teams you've got to beat to get the big prize at the end, and Lexington Catholic is one of those teams," Smith said.
The Rebels are led by junior Josiah Robbins.
"He has a great deal of potential to be a really good quarterback," Smith said. "He's very coachable, very gifted, a lot of speed, a great arm and all the intangibles."
Lexington Catholic Coach Mark Perry gets his first taste of this rivalry.
The Knights are led by Reese Ryan, who has thrown for 6,036 yards and 64 TDs in his career. Jaylen Jones is only 40 yards shy of 1,000 yards rushing this season.
Dixie Heights (4-1) at Tates Creek (3-3): Tates Creek must shore up its defense, which is giving up 376 yards and 33 points a game.
Dixie Heights has been on a roll since a season-opening loss to Covington Catholic. Dixie Heights has impressive wins over small-school powers Beechwood and Newport Central Catholic.
