St. Xavier led McCracken County by five shots when the KHSAA boys' state golf tournament was suspended because of rain at Bowling Green Country Club on Friday. The first round was scheduled to be completed on Saturday morning before the final round begins.
St. Xavier was at 7-over par through 15 holes and McCracken County had completed its round at 12 over. Trinity (13 over through 15, Franklin County (through at 15 over) and West Jessamine (16 over through 12) rounded out the top five.
St. Xavier has won a record 18 state golf championships, but it has been stalled on that number since 2009.
North Oldham senior Josh Maier and Danville junior Spencer McKinney held the individual lead at 4-under par, but neither had completed their round.
