Whitney Creech become the state’s all-time leading scorer after scoring 71 points against Paintsville in an overtime win on Feb. 2. Now the question is, how many points will she finish her career with?
The Cavaliers (17-14) next play Powell County in the semifinals of 14th Region tournament on March 4. Powell County is hosting the event.
Creech became the state’s first 5,000-point scorer after scoring 64 points at Perry County Central, one game after breaking the all-time scoring mark.
As a senior Creech, a WKU signee, has scored 1,557 points to bring her career total to 5,424. She passed Jaime Walz (Highlands) for the top mark.
With 64 pts tonight, Whitney Creech of Jenkins HS (KY) reaches 5,021 career pts, 1st male or female player in Kentucky to reach that mark.

In December she passed Geri Grigsby (McDowell) for second in career scoring.
An independent records review on Feb. 22, 2016, revealed that Creech actually scored 16 more points than she was originally credited for during her seventh grade season.
