The Los Angeles Angels took high school standout Jordon “Jo” Adell of Louisville Ballard as the No. 10 overall pick of Monday’s Major League Baseball Draft.
Adell, a 6-foot-3 Louisville commit and leading candidate for Kentucky’s Mr. Baseball award, hit .562 with 25 home runs and 61 RBI in 35 games for the Bruins. He was also 1-0 with 1.55 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings as a pitcher.
As a top-10 pick, Adell would be turning down a potential signing bonus of more than $4 million if he were to choose to go to school.
