Senior center Corey Rogers scored 22 points and senior guard Jaylen Daniel had 21 to lead the Clark County boys' basketball team to a 67-59 victory over host Montgomery County in the 40th District finals Thursday night.
Clark County, No. 4 in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, also got 11 points from senior forward Vinny Zollo.
Clark County led 57-39 after three quarters.
No. 17 Lincoln County 59, Garrard County 51 (45th): Visiting Lincoln County (22-6) overcame a slow start to win the district title. Garrard County (15-8) led 11-9 after the first quarter, but Lincoln County went on a 22-9 run to take control.
Sophomore guard Emily Fox led Lincoln County with 25 points. Junior forward Devin Napier had 17 for Garrard County.
South Laurel 42, Corbin 40, OT (50th): Senior guard Morgan Johnson hit a three-pointer in the final seconds of overtime to win the district title for host South Laurel (13-15). Senior guard Erika Burchett had 17 points to lead South Laurel. Corbin (19-10) got 15 points from freshman guard Kayla Wilson.
Harrison County 61, Pendleton County 49 (38th): Freshman center Jordan Doram had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lift host Harrison County (17-13) to the district title.
No. 6 Sacred Heart 53, Ballard 51 (27th): Senior guard Maddie Peabody had 14 points to lead visiting Sacred Heart (23-5), which almost squandered a 12-point lead in the district finals. Ballard (12-14) was led by freshman forward Javonna Layfield with 18.
Walton-Verona 52, Simon Kenton 48, 2 OT (32nd): Senior forward Kelli Dixon went 6-for-8 from the line in the second overtime and scored 27 points to lead visiting Walton-Verona to the district title.
