Trey Gay scored with 15 seconds left to give Buckhorn the lead and the Wildcats held on to win 46-42 in a 54th District high school basketball game Wednesday night, eliminating Perry County Central from the playoffs.
Perry County, ranked seventh in the state in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, missed a shot in the final seconds, then fouled Matt Day, who hit the free throw.
Senior Trevor Easterling led Buckhorn with 12 points and Braxton Beverly got 14 for Perry County Central.
Clark County 58, Montgomery County 38 (40th): Senior forward Adam Fatkin scored 19 points and got 11 rebounds to lead Clark County to the district title. Omar Prewitt had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Montgomery County.

No. 1 Trinity 75, Seneca 46 (27th): Nathan Dieudonne led all scorers with 27 points as Trinity routed host Seneca to win the district and run its record to 28-3.
Gallatin County 60, Henry County 58 (31st): Travis Davis and Zak Brown led the way with 18 points each as Gallatin County advanced to the district title game, where it will play host Owen County, which routed Carroll 56-33.
Betsy Layne 68. South Floyd 35 (58th): Dylan Meade scored 22 points as Betsy Layne advanced to the district finals.
Breathitt County 93, Wolfe County 65 (55th): Alex Hamilton and Wesley Noble combined for 52 points as Breathitt won the district.
Powell County 75, Owsley County 62 (56th): Sophomore Keeley Rogers did it all, scoring 23 points, pulling down 19 rebounds and getting seven steals, five blocks and four assists to lead Powell County to the district title.
Whitley County 64, Corbin 40 (50th): Sophomore center Candace Craig scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead host Whitley County to the district title and its 23rd win of the season.
Harlan County 52, Bell County 37 (52nd): Senior Miranda Davenport had 18 points and 10 rebounds as Harlan won the district title.
