Peyton Woods hit a three-pointer with 3 seconds left to give Wayne County, No. 22 in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, a 67-66 victory against West Jessamine in the 12th Region boys' semifinals on Friday night at Lincoln County.
Woods scored 19 points and Trey Blevins had 18 for the Cardinals (26-7).
West Jessamine had taken a 66-64 lead on a pair of free throws by Will Henderson with 15 seconds to go.
Chase Fain led the Colts with 30 points and six rebounds. Daulton Peters had 17 points and eight rebounds.
No. 5 Montgomery County 69, Bishop Brossart 53 (10th): Omar Prewitt scored 22 points in the Indians' semifinal win at Mason County.
Sheldon Clark 54, East Ridge 42 (15th): Cardinals sophomore Chase Parsley scored 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the semifinals.
Johnson Central 61, Pike-ville 57 (15th): Shane Hall had 17 points and eight rebounds and Johnson Central held off the Panthers in the semifinals. Ray Kasongo had 15 points and 14 rebounds for Pikeville.
Perry County Central 59, Cordia 57 (14th): Justin Johnson had 16 points and 12 rebounds in the semifinals for the Commodores. Emmanuel Owootoah scored 12 points for the Lions.
No. 10 Assumption 49, No. 6 Ballard 36 (7th): Nora Kielser had 14 points and nine rebounds to help the Rockets win the battle of top-10 teams in the region semifinals. Tearra Banks scored 22 for the Lady Bruins.
No. 4 Mercy 76, Pleasure Ridge Park 53 (6th): Whitney Hartlage scored a game-high 27 points and Malerie Martin added nine points, seven rebounds, five blocks and five steals for the Jaguars (19-10) in the semifinals at Valley.
No. 17 Butler 50, Bullitt East 30 (6th): Danielle Lawrence had 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals to help the Bearettes (23-7) reach the finals.
