Scott County did just enough down the stretch to pull out a 62-55 victory over Bryan Station in the girls' 42nd District Tournament at Henry Clay on Tuesday.
The Cardinals (17-10) won their fifth game in a row and for the ninth time in 10 games.
Scott County also swept Bryan Station (7-17) in a pair of regular-season games, 65-35 on Jan. 6 and 63-60 on Feb. 11.
Scott County will meet Henry Clay for the district title Thursday at 6 p.m.
Never miss a local story.
The Cardinals were led by Tereka Guyn with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Danielle Defoor scored 14 points, Rachel Young had 12 and Audriana Christopher added 11. Iman Guy grabbed 18 rebounds and added three points.
LaKeysha Stennis led Bryan Station with 25 points.
Scott County played the last 6:01 without Christopher, who injured her left knee.
"Hopefully it'll be a game-time decision on Thursday," Coach Steve Helton said. "Her health is No. 1 to us right now, and we're going to say a little extra prayer tonight that everything will be OK."
Christopher left with the Cards clinging to a 45-43 lead.
The gap still was two, 56-54, before Scott County closed with a 6-1 run.
Young scored five of the six, including three free throws.
"At the end, we got just enough stops and rebounds to at least extend our season a couple more games," Helton said. "They played well again. ... I'm really proud of our kids, finding a way. You get to tournament time, it's all about survival, and that's exactly what happened tonight. We just survived, and we can play on at least two more games."
