Lafayette senior forward Jackson Davis received a scholarship offer from Mississippi State on Monday night. Bulldogs Coach Rick Ray was among several college coaches who traveled to Frankfort last Friday to watch Davis play in his final high school game, an 11th Region quarterfinal loss to Henry Clay.
Davis also has offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Butler, Florida State and Central Florida since re-opening his recruitment last month. He committed to Rice last fall.
Johnathon Davis told the Herald-Leader on Monday night that the family hoped to have a better idea of which schools they want to visit sometime in the next seven to 10 days.
Davis has emerged as one of the top uncommitted prospects in the country for the class of 2014. He is a finalist for Kentucky Mr. Basketball honors.
An assistant coach from Louisville attended his final game Friday. Davis has not had any contact with UK.
