Former Louisiana State University basketball coach Dale Brown will be the featured speaker Saturday for the Tyler Hicks Scholarship Banquet at Scott County High School.
The scholarship honors the memory of the son of Cardinals Coach Billy Hicks. Tyler Hicks died in an auto accident in 2012. Tyler was a standout student-athlete at Scott County, graduated from the University of Kentucky and had just risen to the rank of First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army at the time of his death.
Donations may be made and tickets purchased online at www.tylerhicks14memorial.com.
Coach Brown will sign autographs from 5:15 to 6 p.m., with dinner to follow. Brown will speak after a presentation honoring this year's scholarship recipients.
Brown, who was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame last year, led LSU to two NCAA Final Fours, four Southeastern Conference Tournament titles and a league tourney crown. His 448 career victories are third only to Adolph Rupp and Billy Donovan in SEC history.
