The state high school football championships are staying in Bowling Green and they have a new sponsor.
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced Friday that the football finals will continue to be played at Western Kentucky University's L.T. Smith Stadium through 2014, and that Russell Athletic will be the title sponsor.
KHSAA Commissioner Julian Tackett said the corporate community support in Bowling Green and WKU's involvement "continues to amaze me. This gives one of our marquee championships stability and allows for continued growth in the coming years."
The football title games have been held at WKU since 2009. Last year's finals drew 47,759 fans, the most since the expansion to six classes in 2007.
