Everett Talbert punched it in from 1 yard out with 14 seconds left to give Bryan Station a 21-14 victory at West Jessamine on Friday night. Talbert only had one other carry in the game, a 27-yarder.
Defenders quarterback Ora Johnson got his team on the board first with an 80-yard run in the second quarter. He also threw an 11-yard TD pass to L.J. Warfield that got Bryan Station even, 14-14, late in the third quarter.
Both of West Jessamine's scores came on the ground. Romandon Tatum ran it in from 32 yards out just before halftime. Robert Irgang added an 11-yard TD run.
Corbin 21, Tates Creek 14: Brady Foley scored on a 15-yard run with 7:15 to play to lift Corbin to a victory against visiting Tates Creek.
It was Foley's second touchdown of the night. He got things started with a 9-yard scoring run in the first quarter.
Dennis Oxendine scored both of the Commodores' touchdowns, the first on an 18-yard run in the third quarter, and the second on an 80-yard run early in the fourth.
Foley ran for 159 yards on 22 carries, and Corbin quarterback Ty Cobb threw a 26-yard TD pass to Hunter Grubb.
Oxendine ran for 219 yards on 17 carries. He also had a 7-yard catch.
Fern Creek 32, Dunbar 20: The Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-0 lead before Fern Creek used three straight touchdown runs by Jalen McNeal to rally for a 20-14 lead. Aaron Smith's 70-yard interception return pushed the lead to 26-14.
Dunbar quarterback Blake Martin figured in all three of his team's scores. Martin threw a 22-yard TD pass to Emory Thompson in the first quarter to give his team a 7-0 lead.
Martin added a 4-yard TD run in the second quarter and a 15-yard TD pass to Cam Pergram late in the third.
Martin wound up 18-for-45 for 198 yards and he was picked off three times.
McNeal paced Fern Creek with 121 yards on 19 carries. Darius Ross and Jacob Hayes added 86 and 83 yards rushing, respectively.
Franklin Co. 34 Letcher Co. Central 27: Chris Roberts scored on an 8-yard touchdown run with 2:16 left to give Franklin County a 34-27 victory at Letcher Central.
The game was close throughout, but Franklin County stayed in front most of the way. Ryan Timmons did most of the damage for the Flyers, scoring on 71- and 60-yard passes from Logan Woodside. Timmons also ran for a 66-yard touchdown.
Logan Johnson threw for 305 yards and four TDs for Letcher Central. Two of those were to Matt Boggs.
Pikeville 21, Raceland 20: Raceland's Marcus Reed threw a 4-yard TD pass to Tyler Nethercutt with 21 seconds left to make it 21-20, but the visiting Rams went for the win and the two-point conversion failed.
Panthers senior quarterback Randy Maynard ran for 139 yards and threw for 126 more. Maynard scored on 7- and 66-yard runs and threw a 68-yard TD to Cody Estep.
Madison Central 29, Mercer Co. 7: Dominique Hawkins ran for 214 yards on 17 carries and scored the visiting Indians' first two touchdowns on runs of 51 and 12 yards.
Madison Central's Hunter Stocker added TD passes to JaCory Mullins and Ken'jah Bosley.
Scott Co. 52, Harrison Co. 0: Josh Walls got the Cardinals on the board with a couple of early touchdown runs, and Scott County went on to rout visiting Harrison County. Cardinals quarterback Ben Lawler added a couple of TD passes, and Damon Gray returned a fumble 15 yards for a score.
Breathitt Co. 68, Newport 12: Richard Trent threw three TD passes and ran for two scores, and Will Collins added three more TD runs in host Breathitt County's victory.
