Lexington Christian football head coach Ethan Atchley has been named an assistant athletic director, the school announced Tuesday.
Atchley, 26, will remain the school's football coach in addition to overseeing athletic facilities, game management and marketing. He was named head coach in January 2014, replacing Ray Graham.
"We are very excited to bring Ethan on board," Athletic Director Terry Johnson said in the school's release. "He's done a terrific job with our football program and having him on campus serves a great need for us."
Atchley, a Cleveland native and University of Kentucky graduate who majored in marketing, taught business at Lafayette the last four years. He said he's "very excited" to join the school's athletic department.
"Not only will it allow me to be on campus everyday, but it also fulfills a professional goal of a career in athletics administration," he said.
Lexington Christian went 6-6 in Atchley's first season and advanced to the second round of the Class 2A playoffs.
Atchley was LCA's defensive backs coach in 2011, defensive coordinator in 2012, and was defensive coordinator at Lafayette in 2013.
