Trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. has appealed the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission's decision to deny him a license, the Daily Racing Form reported Friday.
The commission will schedule a hearing within 30 days to reconsider the Licensing Review Committee's ruling, in which it cited misrepresentations on Dutrow's 2011 application and his 64 violations over 15 years, commission spokesman Dick Brown told DRF.
Dutrow, 52, cannot enter any horses in races in Kentucky, Brown said, until he receives an annual license. Dutrow's annual license in Kentucky had expired before the decision to deny the license.
"He's still unlicensed," Brown told DRF. "He can't enter a horse. His status has not changed with the commission."
