The birthplace of 1997 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Silver Charm will go on the auction block Thursday.
Padua Stables in Ocala., Fla., was once Silverleaf Farm. Top Thoroughbred breeder Satish Sanan bought the 763-acre property in 1998 and put $30 million into building it into a world-class equestrian breeding and training center, where four Breeders' Cup champions trained. The property is being sold in two parcels or as one.
In 2007, Sanan decided to move his breeding operation to Kentucky and listed the luxury farm for $35 million, then $24.9 million, before deciding earlier this year to auction it Thursday.
