WKYT's CW Lexington channel will be part of the television coverage for the Breeders' Cup World Championships at Keeneland on Oct. 30-31.
NBC and its NBC Sports Network will provide national coverage of the Breeders' Cup both days.
This will be the first time in the event's history that a local TV affiliate will broadcast Breeders' Cup races live.
The Breeders' Cup, which consists of 13 races and $26 million in purses and awards, is being held for the first time at Keeneland.
WKYT's CW Lexington will televise five of the Breeders' Cup undercard races on Oct. 30 from noon-3 p.m.
On Oct. 31, CW Lexington will be on the air from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will televise four races beginning with the $100,000 Perryville and the $100,000 Juvenile Dirt Sprint. CW Lexington will then televise the first two Breeders' Cup World Championships races. Those races will be determined when the final race order for both days of the championships is announced Oct. 22.
